MISHIMA in NOIR X

Vision

The MISHIMA returns as a limited re-edition of the Kyosho Series, Jacques Marie Mage’s tribute to the Japanese artists and outsiders who shaped global culture. It takes its name from Yukio Mishima, the 20th-century author of 34 novels and nearly 50 plays, three times nominated for the Nobel Prize.

Its medium rectangular silhouette features a distinctive nose bridge, a beveled brow and sleek temples. In the NOIR X colorway, polished black acetate meets vivid orange lenses. As a result, the frame combines bold contrast with timeless elegance.

Crafted to Perfection

The frame is handcrafted from 10mm polished black cured cellulose acetate. Its double-laminated temples pair black exteriors with burlwood interiors, revealing a warm surprise on the inside.

Dark gold hardware adds the unmistakable Jacques Marie Mage signature. The signature arrowhead front pins are finished in 18K dark gold, while hidden “classic” wirecores, spur-shaped rivet heads and custom 9-barrel hinges with refined hairline details share the same dark gold finish. In addition, gold foil-stamped hallmarks complete the inner temples.

The Orange CR39 lenses by Armorlite feature a 4-base curve and backside anti-reflective treatment. Therefore, they offer clarity, visual comfort and full UV protection, with a category 2 tint ideal for everyday wear.

Limited Production Batch

Only 400 pieces of the MISHIMA in NOIR X were produced. Each pair belongs to a carefully controlled production run, numbered by hand and signed by the craftsmen.

Packaging

Each pair arrives in a silk-wrapped monograph box in the signature Bordeaux Empire color. It includes a custom leather eyewear case handcrafted in Italy and an oversized microfiber cleaning cloth. A letterpress authenticity card, with the craftsmen’s signatures and a hand-written serial number, completes the set.
