MISHIMA in ARGYLE

Vision

The MISHIMA returns as a limited re-edition of the Kyosho Series, Jacques Marie Mage’s tribute to the Japanese artists and outsiders who shaped global culture. It takes its name from Yukio Mishima, the 20th-century author of 34 novels and nearly 50 plays, three times nominated for the Nobel Prize.

Its medium rectangular silhouette features a distinctive nose bridge, a beveled brow and sleek temples. In the ARGYLE colorway, polished Havana acetate meets fresh light bottle green lenses. As a result, the frame feels both classic and quietly expressive.

Crafted to Perfection

The frame is handcrafted from 10mm polished Havana cured cellulose acetate. Its double-laminated temples combine Havana exteriors with clear interiors, revealing the depth of the material from every angle.

Dark gold hardware adds the unmistakable Jacques Marie Mage signature. The arrowhead front pins are finished in dark gold, while inner wirecores, spur-shaped rivets and custom 9-barrel hinges with hairline detailing share the same dark gold plating. In addition, gold foil-stamped hallmarks complete the inner temples.

The Light Bottle Green CR39 lenses by Armorlite feature a 4-base curve and backside anti-reflective treatment. Therefore, they offer clarity, visual comfort and full UV protection, with a light category 1 tint.

Limited Production Batch

Only 350 pieces of the MISHIMA in ARGYLE were produced. Each pair belongs to a carefully controlled production run, numbered by hand and signed by the craftsmen.

Packaging

Each pair arrives in a silk-wrapped monograph box in the signature Bordeaux Empire color. It includes a custom leather eyewear case handcrafted in Italy and an oversized microfiber cleaning cloth. A letterpress authenticity card, with the craftsmen’s signatures and a hand-written serial number, completes the set.
